Each piece is handmade using genuine natural materials — real abalone shell, authentic freshwater and baroque pearls, semiprecious gemstones, and sterling silver. The ocean-inspired designs are one-of-a-kind, and every order ships in a beautiful gift-ready box at no extra charge.
Yes, all abalone shell used in Taylor And Caroline jewelry is genuine natural paua (abalone) shell. The iridescent colors — greens, blues, purples, and pinks — are completely natural and unique to each shell. No dyes or artificial coloring are used.
All pearls used in our jewelry are genuine freshwater or baroque pearls — never faux or plastic. Freshwater pearls are cultivated in freshwater mussels and have a natural luster. Baroque pearls are irregularly shaped natural pearls prized for their unique organic forms.
We primarily use sterling silver (92.5% pure silver) for clasps, findings, and settings. Some pieces also feature gold-filled or gold-tone components. All metal types are specified in each product description.
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time when exposed to air and moisture. This is normal and can be easily reversed with a silver polishing cloth. To slow tarnishing, store your jewelry in an airtight pouch or box when not wearing it, and avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and water.
We work with a wide variety of semiprecious gemstones including labradorite, turquoise, kyanite, onyx, quartz, agate, and more. All gemstones are genuine and natural unless otherwise noted in the product listing.
Most of our pieces use sterling silver findings, which are generally well-tolerated by people with metal sensitivities. If you have a known allergy to specific metals, please check the product description carefully or contact us before purchasing and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Orders are packed and shipped within 1–2 business days. After your order ships, standard delivery takes 3–7 business days. Total time from order to delivery is typically 4–9 business days. Custom orders may take 2–4 weeks.
Shipping is FREE on all orders over $50. Orders under $50 ship for a flat rate of $10.00. We ship via USPS within the United States.
Sales tax is automatically calculated and collected for orders shipping to Maryland (6%), where Taylor And Caroline is based. Tax is calculated by Stripe at the payment step based on your shipping address and will be clearly shown before you complete your purchase. Orders shipping to other states are not currently subject to sales tax.
Currently we ship to all 50 US states only. We do not offer international shipping at this time. If you are outside the US, you may be able to purchase through our Etsy shop, which offers international shipping options.
Yes! Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number via email. You can use this number to track your package on the USPS website.
We take great care in packaging every order, but if your jewelry arrives damaged, please contact us immediately at hello@taylorandcaroline.com with photos of the damage. We will make it right with a replacement or full refund — no questions asked.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel your order. Since orders ship within 1 to 2 business days, we can accommodate changes or cancellations within 24 hours of ordering in most cases. Custom orders cannot be cancelled once work has begun.

Custom orders typically take 2–4 weeks from approval to shipment, depending on complexity and material availability. We will give you a specific timeline when we confirm your custom order.

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for items in original, unworn condition. To initiate a return, email us at hello@taylorandcaroline.com with your order number. Custom orders and sale items are non-returnable.

Abalone is a natural material sensitive to chemicals and moisture. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing. Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and water. Store separately from other pieces to prevent scratching. The iridescent surface can be dulled by oils and chemicals.
Pearls are organic gems that require gentle care. Wipe with a soft damp cloth after wearing to remove skin oils and sweat. Keep away from all chemicals, perfumes, and hairspray. Pearls should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
Polish sterling silver with a soft silver polishing cloth to restore shine. For heavier tarnish, a mild silver cleaning solution can be used. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners for pieces with shells or pearls. Store in an anti-tarnish pouch when not wearing.
